OUR PURPOSE

We believe that people with a disability have the same rights as everyone else in the community and should have access to well designed, well located, safe and secure housing of their choice.

We can assist in achieving this goal by providing consultancy and advice to NDIS service providers, builders and developers and NDIS participants who wish to develop SDA housing, and by supporting people with a disability locate housing which meets their specific needs and personal choices.

I’m fortunate that my experience has given me a practical understanding of how a successful SDA business operates, how challenging it is to locate SDA approved participants and how to create safe and sustainable tenancies.

My experience has encompassed both not for profit and for-profit organisations. I understand the South Australian market and have strong networks. I’ve also had the experience working with a national SDA provider and this has given me an understanding of best practice in the national market.

As an independent consultant that does not work exclusively with any particular groups, I believe I can offer a unique service where I can get to understand the entire market of SDA players from participants, to SIL’s, support coordinators, families, property developers and private and not for profit SDA’s.

This means that I can access the whole market of potential SDA participants, across the whole state, rather than just referring the clients of a particular SIL or Support Coordinator.

I’m confident that this experience will meet my goal of linking good SDA housing to SDA approved participants.

ADVISE

We can advise on housing designs to ensure we they meet SDA design guidelines, provide advice regarding financial options and introductions to experienced providers, and supply independent advice to Financiers for SDA proposals.

ANALYSE

We can provide due diligence analysis for on proposed SDA developments, including demand and supply analysis, as well as SDA financial feasibility analysis.

LIAISE

We’re available to liaise with and between:

SDA Assessors and housing designers
Providers and reputable, experienced builders and developers
Owners, SDA and SIL to ensure housing is managed effectively resulting in successful tenancy.

CONSULT

Ability to provide assessments of SDA providers, including their management pass through agreements, and organisational capability, and also the provision of Collaboration Agreements between participant, SDA and SIL.

I’m a housing professional with 16 years’ experience delivering accessible and affordable housing at four organisations.

As CEO of the Blind Welfare Association, I managed 30 independent living units for people with a disability.

As CEO for the Adelaide Benevolent Society, I built 85 new accessible and affordable houses at a construction cost of $12.5M.

In 2014 I was appointed the inaugural CEO of Access 2 Place Housing. A2P is a disability specific housing provider, established to meet the principals of the emerging NDIS. At A2P we completed 26 new homes which met the then new Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) guidelines. When I left in 2020, A2P consisted of 300 houses and 500 tenants and was the largest SDA provider in Australia.

At KinKera Community, I led the South Australian operations and commenced the development of 39 SDA properties in both metropolitan and rural communities.

I’m proud that two developments which I have been involved with have won Master Builders Awards.
